Tell me they are joking?
I watched Glenn Beck today and thought I was going to fall out my chair. Not that the "Crazy Tree" he deminstrated was great but then....the John Conyers and his stupid comment on "why read the bill?" and then Obama about rushing into things before he was elected president of the united states. What some nerves he has to talk about Bush. This has got to be the funniest thing evey...I loved it!

CONYERS: I love these members that get up and say, "Read the bill."

GLENN: Stop, stop. This sound like a comedy show, doesn't it? Doesn't it sound like, I love these ‑‑ so this congress member came up to me and said, "Read the bill (laughing)." Yeah.

CONYERS: The bill, if it's 1,000 pages and you don't have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill.

GLENN: Have you not heard that yet, Stu? This is great.

PAT: Is he not a lawyer?

GLENN: Play it again. Of course, he's the head of the judiciary committee.

PAT: Yes, he is.

GLENN: Here it is.

CONYERS: I love these members that get up and say, "Read the bill." What good is reading the bill if it's 1,000 pages and you don't have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill.

GLENN: So he's just going to sign it!

STU: Wow.

GLENN: So the solution is, no, no, no, I need two attorneys. It's 1,000 pages. I need more time. I'm not going to sign this. His Lucian is just sign it.

STU: Luckily, though, we are in a system where our president has promised us five days of time to look over every bill and post it online so we can ‑‑

GLENN: Yeah. And that doesn't happen. That didn't ‑‑ no.

STU: No, he said he was going to post them online, all look at them. So you can more than two days of lawyers. It's twice as much time as he needed.

GLENN: Do you have the audio? We played it last night on TV. Have you put the audio in the audio vault of Barack Obama actually ‑‑ no, you don't.

PAT: I was just looking for it. When he was complaining about Bush?

GLENN: When he was complaining about ‑‑ it was on NewsBusters, I think? Is that the conservative site?

STU: Yeah, yeah.

GLENN: NewsBusters. They posted it yesterday, I think. Of senator‑elect Obama saying, you know what the problem is; this administration just rushes these giant bills through congress. Nobody has any chance to read them. And Randi Rhodes is, "Yeah, I know, that, also, one was 14 pounds." I know. Well, that's when accidents happen. This has got to stop.

PAT: I think I have it.

GLENN: Just the worst.

STU: Don't you hate when you say things on record and people go back and look at them? When you're actually ‑‑

GLENN: No, I don't mind, I don't mind that unless I've been a complete and total hypocrite and I don't have a reasonable explanation for changing my point of view.

STU: There is a reasonable explanation. He's in power now. That's the explanation.
