Team Geese

In the fall when you see geese heading south for the winter flying along in the "V" formation, you might be interested in knowing what science has discovered about why they fly that way. It has been learned that as each bird flaps its wings, it creats an uplift for the bird immediately following. By flying in a "V" formation, the whole flock adds at least 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew on its own.

People who are part of a team and share a common direction get where they are going quicker and easier, because they are traveling on the trust of one another.Whenever a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to go through it alone and quickly gets back into formation to take advantage of the power of the flock. If we have as much sense as a goose, we will share information with those who are headed the same way we are going. When the lead goose gets tired, he rotates back in the wing and another goose takes over.

It pays to share leadership and take turns doing hard jobs. The geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep their speed.

Words of support and inspiration help energize those on the frontline, helping them to keep pace in spite of the day-to-day pressures and fatigue. Finally, when a goose gets sick or is wounded by a gunshot and falls out, two geese fall out of the formation and follow the injured one down to help and protect him. They stay with him until he is either able to fly or until he is dead, and then they launch out with another formation to catch up with their group.

If we have the sense of a goose, we will stand by each other when things get rough. The next time you see a formation of geese, remember: It is a 'Reward', a 'Challenge', and a 'Privilege' to be a contributing member of a 'Team'.

School Days Are Here...YIKES!

Well school is literally right around the corner. I have been trying to get in order here but it's whipping my tail. I have a 4 yr old grand daughter and she will be starting school this year...YAY! Kind of :(

She is not on a bed time schedule and we are at wits end to figure this one out. Been searching for ideas and got a few saved in the favs folder, but we have to get on this now.

Also shopping for clothes has been rough, but thank goodness for the online Wal Mart store. I love me some Wally World and for right now she is at the age that the "name brand" isn't a big deal yet...So yes I have my shopping cart full and just waiting to hit the "check out" button.

So, I have a busy week ahead of me and I know this. It will be something I'm looking forward to and can't wait to see my GBaby meet her new playmates and friends..This is going to be a new chapter in my life and hers and WE are so ready...

This is a wake up call also, that reminds me that they don't stay little long or long enough...

Hold on to those precious memories and keep a camera in your pocket. LOL

Hope all you moms have a great year and may we all keep in touch and share our stories through the year..

Good Day!

Well this is my second blog entry for today. WOW! this is a first...

Got somethings done and as far as the Flying with company thingy, didn't happen. I couldn't wait for them to get up, which was around 5pm...Yeah teens!

Anyways I have figured that if anything is going to get done is to just do it myself, at least I know it will be done right. There is one thing I can't stand and that's sitting over someone and telling them how to do things. UGH! Having teens yourself you should know what I'm talking about.

So, i am on my own once again it seems. I will be making changes to my routines as soon as school starts, which is Aug. 15th for us. There will be chores for EVERYONE!

Besides all that I had a pretty productive day and enjoyed it with an afternoon swim with DH and GD4.. She learned how to swim underwater for a good bit today...She also learned to open her eyes under water. My grandkids are my heart. I enjoy spending time with them, just wish I could more often.

Hope you all have enjoyed your weekend. Now off I go to FLYland, to see what's happening with my FlySister.. See ya there
